On 12th June 1940, Jack Low was a 21 year-old Scottish soldier with the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He was also part of the 21,000-strong 51st Highland Division who that morning had been forced to surrender to the Germans at St. Valery-en-Caux in France. Marched and then put on cattle trucks to POW camps in Germany and Poland he managed to survive the war living on starvation rations and the friendship of comrades.
