Watch now – ‘The Poppy Story’ book animation

27th June 2019

Following the launch of ‘The Poppy Story’, Poppyscotland Learning is proud to present this beautifully animated version of the book, available to watch now in both English and Gaelic.

‘The Poppy Story’, suitable for younger children and complete with colourful illustrations by Alfredo Belli, follows the idea of the development of the Poppy as a symbol of remembrance from the poem In Flanders Fields, and how the Poppy is used to raise money and help those who need it today. The book is aimed at children aged four to eight years old.

‘The Poppy Story’ book was published in October 2018 to mark the centenary of the signing of the Armistice, which led to the end of the First World War. A free copy of the book was sent to every primary school and public library throughout Scotland, providing an engaging new resource to help educate young students across the country about the effects of war.
