We were extremely proud to learn about the hundreds of school children who created a poppy display at Crawick Multiverse in Dumfries and Galloway ahead of Remembrance Day. The poppies were arranged at Crawick Multiverse with assistance from an artist, and pupils from Sanquhar and Kelloholm Primaries, Closeburn House School and Sanquhar Academy. The pupils made about 400 poppies to display at the iconic artland. One red poppy was made in memory of each local person who lost their life during World War One, World War Two and the Korean War, and black poppies were made in memory of local miners. The poppies were arranged at Crawick Multiverse with assistance from an artist and pupils from Sanquhar and Kelloholm Primaries, Closeburn House School and Sanquhar Academy who all took part in a Remembrance parade. The poppies remained on display until 13:00 on 11th November and were then taken to a variety of local memorials. Sanquhar and District Silver Band also attended the Remembrance event and played music including the Last Post. A two-minute silence were also observed.
